Tauranga Elim Church began as two congregations—Tauranga City Elim and Elim Christian Centre—that served Tauranga Moana for over 40 years. In 2015, they merged under the leadership of Pastors Trevor and Debbie McDowell, purchasing and transforming 59 Koromiko Street from a warehouse into the modern facility we have today.

In April 2024, leadership transitioned to Pastors Aaron and Sarah More, who previously served as youth pastors at Tauranga City Elim. With a long-standing connection to the church family, they returned to Tauranga after eight years as senior pastors in Alexandra, along with their three boys.

We exist to glorify Jesus and are committed to growing in three key areas: Prayer, Presence and Mission.  These shape our mission: Impacting all people with the love and power of Jesus Christ.
